Gods Lovingkindness

Over the past couple of years I have been intently studying the Psalms at my own pace. The thing that has been most dear to me that I discovered in doing so is the reoccurrence of the word "lovingkindness". In almost every Psalm that I found this is referring to the lovingkindness of God the Father. I read it again today "be gracious to me , O God, according to your lovingkindness". This character trait is something I've been trying to grasp for life. Sometimes our view of God can be skewed due to our upbringing or traumatic experiences. Legalism is part of what has caused me to view my Gods grace as opposite of loving and kind. I find that when I mess up or go through a difficult circumstance I doubt this lovingkindness. However I am able to recall scriptures like the ones that say he is for me and delights in me. These lovingkindness passages are really helping me see the heart of God and that His lovingkindness is irrevocable and unwavering. In almost every case the word lovingkindness has to do with a different topic. For example, the lovingkindness found in Psalm 51 has to do with Gods grace and the lovingkindness in Psalm 108 has to do with how vast it is throughout the heavens. I am asking God to reveal himself to me and show me at least one thing a day that reveals His lovingkindness. His lovingkindness correlates with His goodness and oh He is a good good Father. I want to encourage you to underline every time you see the word lovingkindness in the Psalms. It will change your entire perspective and add a new and easily overlooked view of the book. Psalms aren't just about worship, mourning, anguish or sin. They are very much about Gods lovingkindness as well. Hope this encourages you and brings you peace as it has me this morning.

Psalm 92:2 "To declare your lovingkindness in the morning and your faithfulness by night."
