Sweetly Broken

"If God can accomplish His purposes in this world through a broken heart, then why not thank Him for breaking yours?" - Oswald Chambers

It ate me alive when I read those words but at the same time it encouraged me. It ate me alive because heart break is no fun, but it encouraged me because it means God will accomplish things in this world through those who are broken. Being sweetly broken is a daily holy surrender in offering up every part of your life to the Father. Being sweetly broken means that there is room for being made sweetly whole. Sometimes we don't find ourselves being whole without being broken first. Sometimes God will keep us in a state where we are broken to humble us and give Him all the glory. Either way living with a mindset of "thy kingdom come thy will be done" is key to have for His plans will not be thwarted and the things He does for His kingdoms purposes are sometimes far beyond our understanding.

Lets take a look at the sweetly broken in Matthew 5:2-12

2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons[a] of God.
10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Notice their reward for suffering....blessing. "Rejoice and be glad for your reward is great in heaven."

Remember the one who was sweetly broken for you and it will change your perspective tremendously.
