Day #5 Better than Jesus?

Today I did something I haven't done in a long time. I read for over an hour, prayed on my knees, and worshipped using the piano. These are all things I used to do for a long legnth of time when I first woke up in the morning before I had a facebook. Now I don't always get on facebook first thing when I wake up but it would happen occasionally. Not having facebook has given me a lot of extra time & I have found no better way to have extra time with the Father.

Now, I'm gonna admit its been difficult not getting on facebook, but I'm learning to use my time more wisely and live in integrity. My parents left out of town today and I'm house sitting with no one around. Not getting on facebook has officially become harder. Anyhow, this is what I learned in my readings this morning about facebook: THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN JESUS. Hebrews talks about the old covenant and Jesus being the new covenant which completed everything because He is the ultimate perfect sacrifice. Hebrews 8:7 says, "For if that first covenant had been faultless, no opportunity would have been sought for a second one." The first covenant wasn't better than Jesus. How many times do we try to replace Jesus with other things or make Him secondary? When we do this we are basically showing Him that there is something better out there then what He has to offer. A question I'm asking myself now before I do something is "What good will come out of this?". If its no good then why do it?

Pray with me:
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for showing me I am a faulted creature. Without you showing me this I would have no need for you the faultless Lamb. Forgive me for the times I show in my actions and thoughts that there is something more important than you & your kingdoms purposes. Nothing is better than you.
