He cares more about who you're becoming than where you're going

I attended a church in Corona called Crossroads on Wednesday for their young adults service (Generate). The pastor (Tony Wood) was speaking about how God cares about who you are becoming in life more than He cares about where you're going. This really spoke truth into my life because with having mental illness I have not been in school or work for a year plus now. I wonder at times where is my life going? I sit there and watch my friends graduate, get a good job, or get married and have children. I wonder why God has put me in the position I'm in. But, if I just continue to delight in him (Ps. 37:4) He will add all these things on to my life. The Lord cares more about who I am becoming than where I'm going. So ask me who am I? What do you love? Don't ask me where I go to school, what I'm studying or what job I have. Those things aren't important to God as much as who I'm becoming in Christ.
