Day #40 Where Your Heart Is...

I realize I have not blogged in about a week. This is because I was taking the time to seek God and see what He would have me do with my life. Well surprisingly life has taken a turn in direction. As this fast comes to an end there is one scripture from Matthew  6 that summarizes everything I have learned.

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

  1. Everyone seeks some kind of treasure.
  2. Your treasure will control your heart.
  3. What controls your heart will control your behavior.
So we see that the heart can be very dangerous but beautiful when its treasure is Christ crucified. My treasure no longer is surrounded around me. I know this because the things I so badly wanted are not being given to me by God. God is directing my life and I am being fully dependent on Him. I know what He wants to give me is greater than anything I can give myself. He is my treasure. My heart is here in His hands. My life is here in His hands.

And now...He is quieting me by His love. He is exulting over me with loud singing.

And all I treasure in my heart is.... -To Hear Him Sing-
